Dental Care For Healthy Smiles
Dental hygiene is our secret weapon for pet health. According to the American Veterinary Dental Society, more than 80% of dogs and 70% of cats have dental disease before the age of 3. Not only does dental disease lead to bad breath, it can also affect your pet's vital organs, including their kidneys, liver, lungs, and heart. When it comes to those pearly whites, we believe prevention is the best medicine
Home Care Tips:
- Brush your pet's teeth, daily if possible
- Use oral rinses and dental wipes
- Offer high-quality dental chews
We know that sometimes dental home care is difficult which is why we recommend an annual cleaning.
The Tysons Corner Dental Plan
We offer comprehensive pet dental services, from routine cleanings to complex procedures. Using the latest techniques and equipment we can ensure that your furry family members receive the best care possible.
Annual cleanings keep oral bacteria and plaque at bay. Our team is also equipped to skillfully treat dental conditions from gingivitis to advanced stages of dental disease.
During annual cleanings and dental procedures, we ask that you drop off your pet in the morning. Before your pet's scheduled appointment, we will check their blood work to ensure they are strong enough for anesthesia. In a typical cleaning appointment, one of our skilled veterinarians will perform dental scaling, charting, and polishing. Dental X-rays are taken as needed, typically in the case of extractions. Your pet will gently wake up in one of our recovery suites. We will inform you when they are ready to be picked up.
